When Pearl Mills and Florrie Ward were attacked by a bull in Raumati six years ago, the last thing they expected was to become animated cartoon characters in a short film. Proving that truth is stranger than fiction, the 86 year old twins recently attended the premier of a film called 'Pearl, Florrie and the Bull', created by Raumati-based animators the Simmonds Brothers.
The project, funded by the Screen Innovation Production Fund, has taken just over a year to complete. "I suppose I was a little nervous when we showed the first sequences to the twins in the early stages of the project", says Phill Simmonds. "It took a lot of work to create the first few minutes. The next thing was to show the twins to make sure it had their approval. It's been really important to me and Jeff that they like the way we're handling their story. When I heard them laughing I knew we had their thumbs up."
